We are lost cases....
Hello ^_________^
How are you doing today ? Good ? Bad ? There is no correct answer.
So recently, I started reading on Wattpad after a long time and meet a common trope in fiction : dumb and helpless humans.
Let me explain further with an synopsis (made by me) "In a far future, surnatural species (daemons, vampires, ghouls...) revealed themselves to mankind (first of all...why ?) therefore society is now ruled by them and humans are considered as nothing else."
Wow... Just wooow. Look at it. Guys we are talking about humanity, the most proliferate specie out there. It's also funny to see that humans are portrayed as *dumb* and that surnatural species are way smarter than them. There is nothing wrong with the last fact, but humans are not dumb. Certainly we don't have fangs, wings or supernatural strength but... Humans contreweight it with his ingeniosity. A terrifying ingeniosity. It's true tha sometimes not smart especially concerning politics, social expectations and leadership but we are not dumb (note the difference).
I stopped reading a good book because of that, the MC lives in a world where daemons revealed themselves to humanity... Yada, yada, the beginning of the story, they (MC) don't understand why daemons are so reckless, but given the (akward) opportunity to live with them, they will learn to see things by their POV. So far everything seems great, until, they start considering humans also as less (being human themselves...).
In another story, the MC learns about her new condition: she's a supernatural. So far nothing exceptional. The other surnatural beings teach her about the rules of the surnatural world. (Nothing new). Until she starts minimizing humans while walking in the streets (the audacity!) cuz' they don't know about the surnatural world. Seriously? Like... Why ?
It's okay to escape the limits of being human in writing, but do we really need undermining others (fictonally) because their conditions will never let them know about a particular artefact ? The existence of a royal vampire family ?
# Fun Fact
Wolfs and crows can develop a relationship similar to friendship. The feathered guy helps the wolfs localizing preys and in exchange the wolfs will share the meal with them.
